Tony Sowersby is a painter, muralist, sometime comic book author and cartoonist. This exhibition is a look back at forty-six years of living, working and making art on Bunurong Country, especially Frankston and its surrounds. It includes portraits of extraordinary people living seemingly ordinary lives and landscapes of familiar places seen in a new light - an observation of the everyday. I am lucky enough to live near a beach that faces west to the setting sun. Lucky enough to watch the weather coming across the bay. The sky is a free show every day and the infinite variety of Melbourne’s skies are a constant inspiration. We live on a land of natural beauty and wonder. My art explores this and the way humans treat country.
