  1. What influences and inspires your creative practice?
    • I have a huge list of influences and inspiration, I love the art that came out of the Fluxus movement and GRAV from the 1960s, art that turned the passive observer into a creator of art. I am also influenced a lot by music, ambient work of Brian Eno and Laurie Spiegel, the live shows of Talking Heads or the Burnt Sausages! I am inspired to create work because of the people I get to work with and the people I meet when we present work in public places.

  2. What does the term “arts and culture” mean to you?
    • Art is culture so I think of the two being inextricably linked. Art is a lens with which we can look at the world and interpret our experience of the world. It is a way to link people together or challenge the perceptions or misconceptions that we are taught from the society we grow up with.

  3. Out of curiosity, what is your perception of Frankton? Be honest!
    • To be honest Frankston is a little confusing to me, I think the layout of the streets makes it hard to discern where the centre is exactly. That said as I have recently moved to Dromana from the city and I have come to appreciate the Frankston Art centre as my local art centre (no art centre in Mornington council area as of yet!). I have been coming in for shows with my daughter and it has allowed me to continue to engage with the arts from my new home.

  4. Describe yourself or artistic practice in five words (Note: you are infinitely awesome beyond these five words).
    • Participatory, Playful, Experimental, Public, Collaborative

  5. What South Side Festival show/event are you most excited to check out this year?
    • I am really excited for the South Sea Roller derby! I spent a bit of time in Nebraska in the US and had friends in the No Coast roller derby team, It’s been ages since I've seen it!
  6. What song would be your theme song in the movie adaptation of your life?
    • Reasons to be Cheerful Part 3 by Ian Dury and the Blockheads
