Save your favourite clothing from landfill!

Do you have a favourite piece of clothing that is damaged, or near its wear and tear date, but you are not ready to part with it yet? Come along to these sessions with your garment and save it.

The Waste Circularity Team along with Frankston Library are putting on a number of sessions to help people learn to sew, and how to mend clothing in order to save it from going to landfill.

Come along to these free sessions, have a chat and learn some new things to save your duds.

Available to all ages who can sit, relax and concentrate on some mending and sewing.

Presented by the Frankston Council Waste Circularity Team in collaboration with the Frankston Library Team.

More Info on the UpCycle4Better Bins

With thousands of tonnes of clothing and textiles going to landfill each year, we can help minimise the waste by mending our loved clothing. We can also minimise waste to landfill by using clothing and textile drop off locations, which will then diverted for reuse and recycling.

In an effort to help minimise clothing and textile, they are also offering a place to drop off unwanted and unusable clothing and textiles in the UpCycle4Better bins onsite in the Frankston Library forecourt from 10-19 May as a part of the South Side Festival. The clothing bin accepts clothes, shoes, home textiles, soft toys, textile accessories and underwear. Used items must still be washed and clean.
